The University of applied sciences (FHOOE) in Wels exists since 1993 and is one of the pioneers in the higher education sector. It has around 150 employees and a very high percentage of third-party funding in the research and development department. For this project the FHOOE has the possibility of CT-imaging of the samples under load in an in-situ stage, in order to gain knowledge of the behaviour of the materials and to validate the results of simlation.  FACC is one of the leading companies in the development and production of advanced fiber reinforced components and systems for the aeronautic industry. Their main area of expertise is the fabrication of fiber reinforced polymers. Their products range from fuselages, airfoils and engine parts up to complete passenger cabins for civil aircrafts, business jets and helicopters. The main focus of Schiebel is in the development and production of mine detectors and unmanned high-tech helicopters. Since 20 years they are collecting experience and know-how in the construction and development of unmanned helicopters an the needed subcomponents and control algorithms. 80% of their CAMCOPTER® S-100 is made of fiber reinforced materials, meaning they have a complete manufacturing facility in Wiener Neustadt. The results of the BeyondInspection project helps Schiebel to optimize the reliability of the CAMCOPTER® S-100.  Because of it evolutionary history, 92% of CoLT belongs to FACC, it has a long experience in the aeronatic industry. This know-how, collected in the last 25 years, allows CoLT to master complex problems in other areas too. CoLT is accredited as an independent testing laboratory subject to ISO 17025:2005. Because of the previous integration in the testing division of FACC, CoLT guarantees the fulfillment of all requirements concerning the EN9100 norm and part of the NADCAP-Composite certification.
